POPLAR STREET RESIDENCE :: BOULDER
Warm woods, slate, granite, and neutral colored ceramic tile provide a calm backdrop and help tie together a midsize home located in North Boulder. Previously laid out with small dark spaces, changes to the kitchen included removing most of the wall in between the living room to visually enlarge and connect the spaces. This created more opportunities for social interaction. New space saving kitchen internal components replaced the walk-in pantry and the removal of the unnecessary door to the lower level and the upper half of the end wall allowed more light to pour through the kitchen.
The bathroom’s footprint remained the same but gained much needed storage with a more efficient vanity and open shelves in a previously boxed-in empty space. Similar materials in a warm, neutral palette helped create a cohesive connection to the nearby newly remodeled kitchen.
