Historic Denver Award

Sinclair Snarf’s wins Historic Denver’s Award for ReMix at its 48th Annual Dinner & Awards Ceremony. Historic Denver’s purpose is advocating for Denver’s identity as a city that remembers and respects its past as it plans for the future. In its third year, the ReMix award for project that successfully blends a historic building with a new development went to our Snarf’s project on South Broadway for preservation and reuse of the long abandoned Sinclair Gas Station.


Colorado Expressions Magazine

DesignHouse designed from the ground up Red Canyon Ranch of Sedalia, Colorado was featured in the 2004 Spring issue of Colorado Expressions Magazine, a lifestyle publication celebrating the lives of Coloradans and profiling the best of the best in Colorado.


The Big Chill

The 135+ year old jewel in the Denver Baker Historic Center boasts integration of modern appliances with the period-inspired look of the Victorian era. Big Chill's retro-styled and professional-grade kitchen appliances give you modern performance with a timeless design. The Boulder based business, Big Chill, now boasts this kitchen as an example of how to incorporate their product into a successful period remodel.


When a Denver family decided to renovate the kitchen of their historic house in the National Register-listed Baker neighborhood, they hoped to preserve the ca. 1890 house’s charm without compromising function. They did it by incorporating a warm color palette centered on custom knotty hickory cabinets, with a creamy tile backsplash and veined black soapstone countertops, a tomato-color accent wall and brass details throughout. The design is a collaboration among designer Shaun Minné, owners Kimberly MacArthur Graham and Ralph Graham, and the appliance company Big Chill.
